Nimrod on Bruntingthorpe airfield

Open Days

We endeavour to keep the aircraft in operable condition and to help us ‘exercise’ the aircraft we usually have two open days per year where any aircraft that are serviceable will carry out full power taxi runs along our main runway. This makes for an incredible spectacle and an ideal opportunity to get close to the aircraft.

However, due to the unprecedented level of commercial activity on the airfield at this time, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the planned August Open Day which was scheduled to take place on Sunday 27th August 2017. However, whilst there won’t be a formal event on the day,  we will still be exercising a small number of the aircraft. Please note that as this will not be a formal event there will not be any trade stands. Access for anyone wanting to still visit on this day will be allowed at a reduced charge of £15 per adult, under 16’s are free of charge.

We are sorry to disappoint so many regular attendees who we know look forward to the full taxi day events. It is currently expected that the normal Spring Open Day will take place as usual on Sunday 27th May 2018 however please do keep a watch on this space for future updates.
